Web Developer – PHP

Reporting to the Team Lead we are seeking a PHP/Symfony Web Developer to join our Product and Infrastructure Team.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Assist in building, testing and releasing documentation of robust, high performance web applications
  • Web development project planning.
  • Routine software maintenance and support of internet applications and associated databases.
  • Write unit tests for your code and value code quality.
  • Develop prototypes quickly and effectively.
  • Review and influence ongoing design, standards and methods of our engineering process.
  • Manage the development process within the go-to-market and development frameworks.
  • Communicate ideas and concepts to other members of the development team.
  • Interact with the team and add additional value wherever possible (Top notice English skills both written and verbal).

Key Attributes and skills to ensure your success in this role include:

  • 3+ year’s professional experience in an MVC based web environment.
  • Ideally 3+ year’s professional experience in a PHP5/Symfony web environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following: MySQL/Postgres; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Enjoy working in an agile and fast paced environment.
  • Lead by example and be a good team player.
  • Good and clear communication.

Preferred attributes and skills to ensure your success in this role include:

  • Relevant Engineering, IT or Computer Science Degree.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following: Python/Django; SOA, Message Bus, Rabbit MQ, microservices, JIRA, Hadoop, MongoDB, Map/Reduce, Elasticsearch, SugarCRM.
  • E-commerce platform development.

Email Marketing Manager

We are currently looking to recruit an Email Marketing Manager based in our Head Office in Auckland.  Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role will give you the opportunity to work on the cutting edge of online marketing trends and take your cross channel and email marketing skills to the next level.

As well as leading and mentoring a junior email marketing specialist, this role will be directly responsible for driving e-commerce revenue by strategizing, planning, executing and monitoring cross channel marketing initiatives across all our sites.  With at least 5+ years’ proven enterprise level email experience behind you in a relevant digital marketing and analytics role, your exposure to the online marketing environment means that you are overflowing with ideas on how to maximise return on investment.

Key Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Assisting and managing in the strategic planning of programs tied to meeting email revenue objectives;
  • managing the day-to-day function of e-mail creation, send management, reporting and ensuring successful execution of all initiatives are achieved on time.
  • subscriber management across all websites – acquisition/on-boarding/data quality and hygiene
  • provide insight on email performance across all facets of the business – content/consumber behaviour/DMP/GA and other analytic tools the business uses
  •  Strategy and implimention of programtic campaigns, analysis and research;
  • Track all email marketing programs and report on their successes and shortfalls and ROI;  make recommendations and proactively build new programs based on this data
  • Develop and manage weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports on email performance metrics and analyse finding to identify opportunities and drive email revenue
  • Develop and execute test plans for key email components such as subject lines, time and day of week, reactivation tests, segmentation etc
  • Lead and manage planned Solus and other promotional activities and risk mitigation of ad hoc marketing initiatives;
  • Other project related duties as assigned.

With a passion for driving successful digital marketing ideas and understanding how they impact on the business, you will ideally hold a relevant tertiary qualification and a working knowledge of social media, brands and/or marketing.  To be successful in this role you will have a strategic knowledge and experience of email marketing, ROI reporting and Internet sales.  Experience with enterprise level email service providers such as Exact Target, StrongView, Egentic, Marketo or similar essential.  You will also have a good understanding of web programming languages and techniques with a focus on HTML, Javascript and have good knowledge of best practice for email marketing and deliverability.

Our ideal person will be passionate, organised (can coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines) and enthusiastic and will without a doubt display outstanding interpersonal skills at all levels.   Oh and did we say fun….we have an outstanding team dynamic that is dedicated and passionate and to fit in nicely with our team you will need to be down to earth, level headed and love a bit of banter.
